We are always pursuing excellence to exceed our ambitions goals, rewarding both the goal outcome and how we achieve it.PurposeThis position is responsible for traveling to different sites and conducting gas consumption meter reads using meter reading equipment and responding to customer service requests, not limited to: connections, disconnects, rereading meters, checking for leaks, etc. Communicating with property owners or representatives and maintaining gas meters that measure the gas consumption of homes and businesses. Part of their job is to handle and investigate issues, respond to high bill complaints, inspect systems to identify any damages, troubleshoot problems, and perform repairs or replacements as necessary. Other duties as assigned.AccountabilitiesField Service

Travel in the service territory to visit each home or business on the meter reader list

each day.

Collect data from meters located inside or outside of homes and other buildings using

meter reading equipment.

Recheck and verify readings when there have been complaints of readings that appear

to be inaccurate.

Included in the call-out rotation schedule.

Service & Repair

Provide new gas activation services to customers by connecting the meter and

disconnecting service when required.

Locate and check meters for proper operation. Makes minor repairs in the field such as

tightening connections.

Report inoperable and malfunctioning devices or unauthorized changes to the meter to

supervisor.

Training

Completion of Operator Qualification (OQ) Training.

Skills Required

Ability to read, record and report data accurately.

Must have basic computer skills.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and in various weather conditions.

Valid Driver's License
