Downing Frames is hiring a full-time EXPERIENCED Finisher.
Must be available Monday through Friday, 9-5 and overtime. This is a full-time, W2 job, not cash in hand. No part-time positions are available.
Downing Frames is a contemporary art framing studio specializing in the fabrication of handmade museum-quality frames. We are seeking a motivated individual to become an integral part of our Finishing team.
The candidate will be knowledgeable in a variety of unique, creative, and traditional finishing practices including:
- Staining with water-based soluble dye powders
- Spray booth w/ HVLP system (priming/painting)
- Hand Applied Finishes (oils, wax, polishes, brushed, rubs)
- Custom color matching and mixing
- Hand sanding with strict attention to detail
- General studio tasks/duties
- Contribute/develop creative ideas/process
The ideal candidate is a passionate learner that can communicate clearly with a team of problem solvers and fabricators.
