Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and eager-to-learn Assistant Painter/Finisher to join our team. This role involves hands-on work in the restoration of antique woodwork, with a focus on windows and doorways. The ideal candidate will be passionate about craftsmanship and preservation, with a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the detailed sanding, staining, and sealing of antique woodwork.
Participate in the careful disassembly and reassembly of antique door and window components.
Work on both interior and exterior restoration projects, often requiring precise and delicate handling of materials.
Learn and apply various techniques in wood restoration under the guidance of experienced professionals.
Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and materials are properly cared for.
Qualifications:
Willingness to learn and develop skills in wood restoration and finishing.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work carefully and methodically.
Comfortable working in various outdoor conditions, as much of the work is exterior.
Ability to handle tools and materials safely and responsibly.
Previous experience in painting, woodworking, or restoration is a plus, but not required.
