Compensation:
$25-30/hr depending on experience. 20 hours a week.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up and operating 5 Axis CNC machines for precise machining operations.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine optimal machining processes.
- Selecting appropriate tools, fixtures, and materials for each job.
- Loading and unloading raw materials and finished parts from the machines.
- Monitoring machine operations to ensure both quality and efficiency.
- Making necessary adjustments to machine and raw materials settings to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances.
- Conducting routine maintenance on machines to ensure peak performance.
- Inspecting finished parts using precision measuring instruments like micrometres, callipers, and bore gauges.
- Collaborating with team members to troubleshoot issues and contribute to process improvements.
- Electronically and manually maintain documentation for labour hour records, process work order and production documentation.
- Responsible for putting safety first with a goal to prevent all injuries, occupational illnesses and safety incidents.
Skills & Experience needed:
- 5 Axis (2 year of experience is required)/ Programming (2 year of experience is preferred)
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for creating and editing CNC programs
- Experience with basic fabrication hand tools and equipment (i.e. measuring devices, hand tools, grinder, and other special deburring tools)
- Stand for a minimum of 8 hour shifts with minimal breaks
- Work in awkward positions, including forward reach, lateral reach, squat, overhead reaching, twisting and forward head and rotation of neck
- Ability to identify and communicate tooling and machine problems
- Lift up to 20lbs frequently
