Masa.Kanai is a Japanese salon located in the upscale and friendly neighborhood of the Upper West Side! We are launching a second location between 72nd and Broadway, projected to open the summer.
Until the second location is ready to open, we want to offer professionals the opportunity to test the waters and experience the culture at Masa.Kanai! We will be offering free weekly educational classes where you can learn our signature cutting process which also utilizes our special patented scissors.
The classes are no commitment. You can still work elsewhere and simply come to us to learn more advanced techniques. Classes will be held on Wednesdays at 6pm. We hope that those who stick with the classes will master our signature process and want to debut at our second location when the time comes.
Ultimately, we are looking to introduce a new team of professionals at the second location. At Masa.Kanai, we guarantee you the opportunity to expand your career. Whether you already have your own personal following or not, our salon sees a never-ending influx of new customers. You will definitely be able to build your own clientele list with us. With barber's cuts ranging $80 to $90, standard cuts ranging $125 to $225, and color ranging from $130 to $450+, there is a lot of potential to stay busy and make a great profit.

Applicants must be able to perform both barber cuts and standard cuts.
Must have a valid cosmetology license.
2+ years of experience is ideal.
Once part of the Masa.Kanai team, stylists’ compensation will commission-based with any tips you get from guests, you get to keep. Further discussion about employment down the line such as scheduling can be flexible.
