About Us:
We are the owners of an established wine and spirits store on the Upper West Side of NYC, ushering the store into its next chapter.
We believe that wine should be approachable and exciting. Our aim is to create a unique in-store experience with knowledgeable staff, making it easier for everyone to find the wine & spirits they love. Our team is behind a well-established, popular wine bar in Hell’s Kitchen, and we’ll bring the same warmth, friendly service, and level of quality to this UWS store. We aspire to transform the store into a hub on the UWS, not only for buying wine & spirits, but to build community in the neighborhood and beyond.
We’re looking for a manager to join our team, part-time at first, with the opportunity to transition to a full-time role.
Responsibilities:
+Manage day-to-day operations of the wine store, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and staff supervision
+Maintain a well-organized and visually appealing store layout, ensuring products are accurately labeled and displayed
+Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock checks, and place orders with suppliers to ensure adequate product availability
+Provide tailored guidance and recommendations to customers, assisting them in selecting wines & spirits to fit their tastes and occasions
+Foster positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and the local community through exceptional service and engagement
+Train and mentor staff members to ensure they possess the knowledge and skills needed to deliver outstanding customer service
+Implement effective marketing initiatives, such as tastings, promotions, and events, to attract new customers and retain existing ones
Qualifications:
+Previous experience working in a retail wine store or similar environment, with a passion for wine
+Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build rapport with customers and team members
+Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to effectively manage inventory and ensure store cleanliness and orderliness
+Knowledge of wine varietals, regions, production methods, and pairings
+Knowledge of POS systems and basic computer proficiency
+Must be at least 21 years of age and be able to lift 30-40 pounds
