Bushwick Post, an independent retail shipping and mailing store (established 2017) in the vibrant neighborhood of Bushwick in North Brooklyn, is seeking a sales associate.
Starting salary is $20 an hour. There are frequent weekly bonuses when daily sales exceed a certain level.
Retail experience at a UPS or FedEx store, or another mailing/shipping store, is a big plus, as is Spanish-speaking ability.
Located one a half blocks from the Wilson Avenue stop on the L train, Bushwick Post is an authorized seller of FedEx, DHL, UPS, and USPS shipping and mailing services. We also offer mailboxes, packing/office supplies; printing/copying/faxing services; passport photos and photo printing.
The vibe in the store is warm, familial, creative, and inclusive. Bushwick Post is Black-, BIPOC- and LGBTQ-owned. There is no uniform required.
Required:
the ability to lift 40 pounds
friendliness and enthusiasm for helping people and making them feel welcome and supported
accuracy and meticulousness: the ability to log in packages and mail accurately, measure and weigh accurately, shelve and store accurately, and in general be excited about having a low error rate
Other pluses:
timeliness: if you’re a morning person and/or are able to reliably show up on time, especially to help open the store, this is a big advantage
