We are looking for a Property Accountant (1-3 years of experience). They would be primarily working on properties/entities within our multifamily and student housing portfolios.
Below is a summary of responsibilities:
Functional Accountabilities
Day-to-Day accounting for the Company’s real estate portfolio; A/P review and approval, cash management (bank rec review, daily cash balances), initiate wire transfers and collaborate with property/asset management regarding property operations
Monthly GL Close – Close the GL monthly (Cash, Accrual, FMV and Tax books) and prepare workpapers; review the workpapers prepared by the Property Accountant (see attached exhibit)
Prepare monthly reports – Prepare monthly reporting packages, by 30 days after month end, for internal and external use; i.e. summary asset management and lender compliance reports
Cash Forecasting – Manage the cash flow projection process to ensure cash needs are met for both the entities within the real estate portfolios and investors
Budgets - Prepare annual budgets and collaborate with the real estate team to ensure information is accurate and issued timely
Tax Returns – Review tax returns provided by tax preparers and ensure that the information presented ties with what is in Yardi
Annual/Quarterly Filings – Prepare local and state filings (TC201, NY204LL, etc.)
