COMPANY DESCRIPTION:
The Pained Pot is a busy Paint Your Own Pottery Studio in Park Slope, Brooklyn. We welcome painters of all age to paint pottery, have a birthday party, team building event, bridal/baby shower in our studio. We also conduct after school classes in studio and off site.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Seeking artist/potters with a flexible schedule who are available to work shifts on Monday -Saturday from 10am -9pm and Sunday from 10 am to 7pm.
All positions will also include travel parties at offsite location
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our expectation is for all staff to work together with our current staff to promote a fun and creative experience for the customer.
Open and/or close our studio. Will be trusted to have keys to the studio.
Work with our Square POS to ring up orders for the customer and to assist with inventory.
Answer phone to provide accurate information.
Instruct customer how to start painting their pottery or creating clay pieces.
Host our birthday parties for adults and children
Assist with instruction for our after school classes.
Assist with instruction for our summer camp program.
Assist with off site events.
COMPENSATION:
You will be paid $16 per hour for training which is two weeks or 40 hours. After trained, your pay will increase to $17per hour. When you learn how to load the kiln, your pay will increase to $18 per hour.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Ability to be reliable and timely
2. Must have flexible schedule.
3. Must be 18 years or older
4. Must have a clay or art background
5. Must have lots of energy
6. Studying art or clay at the college level, BFA or some formal training in the arts (ok if you're a current student or recent grad)
7. Outgoing, personable, energetic & fun - yet very serious and committed to the job, punctuality and reliability.
8. Team player
9. Experience working with children.
10. Must be family/kid friendly in personality and appearance.
