Luisa et la luna is looking for a Design Assistant Intern! We are extremely excited about our next SS25 Collection that was just Launched at London Fashion Week. We are searching for a creative bright, fearless and love-for-fashion-working candidate with some experience to help us throughout the post show deign process of creating a news RTW SS25 collection. The ideal candidate will work with our design team on the developing process of our SS25 collection.
You will be a part of a dynamic, creative environment working right along side with Founder/Designer on all aspects of the creative process from concept to final development. This is a hands-on opportunity for those interested in a high-end fashion design creative experience in a small business setting. We are looking for motivated, hard-working, friendly candidates who are passionate about fashion, fabric, and sewing. The Luisa et la Luna design team is looking for someone to start immediately. Minimum 2 days a week. Flexible days/hours. Flexible Mix of Hybrid/remote and in person work environment.
Skills Requirements:
- Fashion Design Process from creating mood boards, sketching, fabric sourcing, first prototype, fittings to final product.
- Creation of Line sheets required for Buyers & stores.
- Knowledge of garment construction, including pattern making, sewing and draping
- Sewing skills: Beginner/Intermediate skills preferred.
- Understanding of patterns
- Knowledge of Pattern drafting
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat)
- Strong fashion sense
- Hardworking, self motivated, reliable, and serious about quality of work and meeting deadlines.
- Fun, positive, friendly, creative attitude.
Responsabilities:
- Sewing
- Cutting
- Pattern drafting
- Draping fabrics
- Work with design team to create mood boards and select fabric/trims for designs for our upcoming season
- Trend research and fabrications following design direction, seasonal inspiration
- Create sketches throughout the conceptual design process
- Work with Designer in developing pattern designs
- Assist with sewing first developing samples prototypes for our new collection
- Assisting with prototype fittings and/or inspirational stylings
- Assist in interpreting and sourcing the brand’s direction into materials, trims, styles, trend, colors, and patterns.
- Prepare line sheet materials
- Working directly with design on this hands-on projects to prepare for upcoming SS25 ready-to-wear collection
- Prep for London Fashion Week Runway Show
