Duties:
- Collaborate closely with customers to understand their artistic vision and recommend suitable frame selections based on preferences, budget, and artwork aesthetics.
- Craft custom frames with precision and attention to detail, ensuring each piece is tailored to the customer's specifications.
- Cut mats accurately to enhance and complement the framed artworks, showcasing them in the best possible light.
- Utilize your knowledge of artistic and photography concepts to guide customers in selecting framing materials, styles, colors, and finishes that enhance their artwork.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including proper storage of framing materials, equipment, and customers' artwork.
- Independently manage framing projects, meeting established deadlines with efficiency.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the framing process.
- Assist customers with additional services as needed, supporting team members during busy periods. Other duties and responsibilities when necessary.
Requirements:
- Prior experience in custom framing and mat cutting is required.
- Proficiency in using various framing tools and equipment such as mat cutters and glass cutters.
- Familiarity with artistic principles, photography concepts, color theory, composition, and framing aesthetics.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and precise craftsmanship in frame construction.
- Effective communication skills to interact professionally with customers and colleagues, understanding their unique needs and offering appropriate framing solutions.
- Excellent organizational abilities to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines consistently.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment while collaborating effectively with team members.
- Passion for art, creativity, and a keen eye for design aesthetics.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds using proper lifting techniques for safety measures.
Schedule and Compensation:
- Full-time position (32-39 hours per week) starting as a contractor role with potential for permanent placement based on project demand.
- Availability required on alternating Saturdays; weekly schedule offers flexibility.
