Artist seeking full time studio assistants.
Artist in Brooklyn is seeking studio assistants to work full time. Ideal candidates are craft oriented and comfortable with hands-on physical work.
Along with assisting in the art making process the studio assistant will be responsible for general upkeep of the space and will be expected to help carry heavy and fragile art.
Must be punctual, organized, outgoing and able to adapt to a variety of different tasks daily.
Required Skills:
- Organization/cleanliness
- Art handling/moving
- Ability to carry more than 50 lbs
- A good eye for color and color matching
Relevant (but definitely not necessary) skills:
- Clay and ceramics
- Painting
- Computers (photoshop etc…)
- Hand sewing
- Color matching, paint mixing
- Woodshop
- Experience with power tools
The studio is in Gowanus, Brooklyn. The work schedule is Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm with pay of $21.00 per hour and 2 weeks PTO accrued over the year.
