Premier New York City real estate law firm located in midtown Manhattan has an opening for a process server, responsible for serving legal court documents for a Landlord and Tenant law firm (not a process serving agency).

Qualifications

Must hold an active New York process server license

A desire to work variable hours as work requires, and the ability to serve at night for a minimum of 2 days per week Knowledge of New York City boroughs

Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal process serving desired but not required

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to read and send emails via a mobile device Attention to detail, strong organization skills, and pride in their work

Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Responsibilities

The person will be a process server, responsible for serving legal court documents for a Landlord and Tenant law firm (not a process serving agency)

Serve legal documents per applicable rules and regulations, including all record-keeping requirements Knowledge of CPLR 735 and RPAPL 308 laws that pertain to serving and filing legal documents

Administrative duties also include, but are not limited to the preparation of affidavit of services, usage of copy machine, and usage of postal machine

Ability to travel to various locations in the New York City boroughs

Adhere to all of the Firm’s policies and procedures Other duties as assigned on an as-needed basis

Compensation & Benefits

$65,000 - $75,000 Base + Overtime + Annual Bonus
