Job Overview:
A local shoe and handbag restoration and tailoring shop in lower Manhattan is seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our team as an Operations and Maintenance Assistant. This role involves assisting customers, completing daily tasks, and supporting operations across our services.
Responsibilities:
Assist customers with pickups, drop-offs, and basic inquiries related to shoe and handbag restoration, as well as tailoring services.
Perform labor-intensive tasks such as tagging, bagging, and organizing items within the shop.
Maintain store cleanliness, including sweeping, mopping, and organizing materials and products to ensure a tidy workspace.
Conduct light deliveries between stores and around lower Manhattan.
Support daily operations by handling general tasks and maintaining an organized and efficient environment.
Qualifications:
Proficiency in English is required; proficiency in a second language is a plus.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Willingness to handle labor-intensive tasks and work on your feet for extended periods.
Reliable, punctual, and able to multitask in a busy environment.
Familiarity with lower Manhattan is a plus, but not required.
Compensation:
$15–$20/hour, based on experience.
