Jackson heights Marcano Health Care, has an immediate opening for a Spanish speaking Medical Assistant
The ideal candidate is a savvy and versatile. Must have experience in appointment scheduling, Answering phones,data entry, knowledge of managed care plans and pre-certifications. Practice management software necessary, experience with Eclinical is preferred. Candidate must also be well spoken, detail oriented, works well under pressure, customer service driven and have the ability to multitask.
Responsibilities
Greet patients; obtain information from new patients and register them into practice management system; verify existing patient information in system, updating as necessary.
Answer patient inquiries at front desk. Route patient questions to appropriate individuals. All patients should be handled courteously and respectfully.
Handle phone calls for physicians; call no-shows; mark charts accordingly; confirm patient appointments and/or procedures. Make or reschedule patient appointments.
Verify insurance eligibility, obtain referrals and pre-certifications using internet websites or other systems as directed.
Make phone calls for physician; call no-shows; mark EMR accordingly; confirm patient appointments and/or procedures. Make or reschedule patient appointments.
Handle prescription refills for patients, taking instructions from physicians.
Scan all documents into the EMR.
Prepare, print and distribute appointment schedule.
Certified medication assistant, vital signs, ekg, blood draw, assist with pap smear and chaperone providers when needed.
Since 95% of patient are Spanish speaking, SPANISH SPEAKING IS A MUST
