Positions: Direct Support Professionals
Locations: All boroughs with a main focus on Queens, Bronx & potentially Staten Island
-Hard to fill locations: College Point and Whitestone will be a focus as well
Hours: PT/FT temp roles with the possibility of going full time
Salary: $16.50-18/hour - client based
Weekend shifts: 10am – 10pm | 11am – 11pm (Part-Timer must be available to work weekends)
Responsibilities:
A direct support professional (DSP) is a professional who assists individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The DSP will report to residential group homes where they will be working alongside with 2-3 other DSP’s, a supervisor and nurse.
Requirements:
- Must have HSD/GED
- Driver license preferred but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
o Bronx location bilingual ability in English and Spanish a plus
- Must be empathetic and eager to assist a population of clients with disabilities
- Ability to perform physical tasks to ensure quality assistance to all clients.
o This include but is not limited to: Bathing, Cooking and Cleaning, etc
o Ability to lift at least 75 lbs
o Ability to push and pull 100 lbs – use of a patient lift tool/crane
- Must have open availability
- PPD gold standard testing or the ability to complete within a week of on boarding
- Ability to complete online application prior to interview date
