Dental Assistant needed for a busy oral surgery practice.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Patient preparation: Greet patients, escort them to the chair, and make them feel comfortable. This may include giving topical anesthetic and discussing the operation.
- Preparing the operation room: Disinfect and arrange tools, and have the patient's X-rays and paperwork ready for the surgeon.
- Assisting during surgery: Provide suction, monitor instruments, and swap tools as needed. You may also assist with patient positioning.
- Post operative care: Provide instructions to patients on how to care for themselves and heal. You may also record procedure notes, progress notes, and treatment information in patient records.
- Other responsibilities include: Sterilizing and disinfecting equipment and Operating x-ray equipment.
- Ability to take panoramic, periapical x-rays & CBCT scans
- Must be able to assist at front desk with heavy call volume when needed
Oral surgery assistants should have prior dental assisting experience, preferably in an oral surgery environment. They should also have strong communication skills, and be able to remain calm under a fast pace environment.
