We are a restaurant company based in Manhattan, with a new seafood restaurant on the pier in Greenport, Long Island. This is a full-time role for a Sous Chef at our Greenport restaurant. The Sous Chef will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing the culinary operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen organization. The Sous Chef will also supervise and train kitchen staff, ensure food safety and quality standards are met, and collaborate with the team to create innovative and delicious dishes.
Qualifications
Culinary skills including food preparation, cooking techniques, and recipe development
Experience in a high-volume restaurant and ability to handle a fast-paced environment
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Creativity and passion for culinary arts
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or similar role is preferred
Culinary degree or certification is a plus
