Boutique Manhattan wine shop focusing in natural and small-production wines seeking an assistant manager. This role includes basic customer service and sales in the store along with stocking just like the rest of our team. In addition, the AM would help the owner with buying with a focus on the smaller natural portfolios.
Other management duties include helping to sett up in-store tastings and events, social media, writing about wine for shelf tags, a monthly newsletter and wine club. Coordinating inventory and shipping logistics and sales and features with the other assistant manager along with helping oversee rest of staff round out the duties.
Seeking someone who has strong wine knowledge at a wine-focused restaurant or bar or prior wine shop experience. Must be excited about natural wine in particular. Must understand that this position requires basic retail duties like ringing up customers and lots of schlepping cases of wine up and down stairs (must be comfortable lifting 40lbs often)
