We are a wood-fired seasonal Italian restaurant. Our seasonal menus adapt traditional and old school family cooking techniques to modern tastes. BARANO is a company that is very passionate about well-executed and balanced Italian food, raw and natural wines, craft cocktails, spirits, and beers.
Our restaurant is nestled in South Williamsburg, currently one of the most rapidly developing areas in NYC. We are just off the Williamsburg Bridge, a short walk from the J M Z trains and just a bit further from the L train.
Barano is currently looking for dedicated and driven cooks to join our team. Cooks are encouraged to share their thoughts and ideas to help build our seasonal menus. You will be trained on all stations, wood fired grill, pizza and pasta station. We want cooks that want to be part of a team that works together to strive for excellence. Pasta experience is a must.
Ideas Candidates:
Have had experience working on a pasta station cooking fresh pasta
Genuinely love to cook
Able to take direction
Have a high level of organization skills
Are professional, articulate, friendly and punctual
Posses a NYC food handlers certificate
At least 2 year experience working in a fast-paced, high volume kitchen (fine dining experience is a plus but not required)
Able to make pizza by hand
Able to read and follow recipes and standards
Maintain health department standards
Maintain food quality and restaurant standards
Ability to demonstrate great teamwork in a hospitality driven environment
