Modern Love Brooklyn is a nice, from-scratch vegan restaurant. We are hiring a PT host. Hours are flexible. We have brunch weekend hours or weekend/weekday nights. About 3 shifts per week total with chances to pick up shifts as well. Shifts are anywhere from 5 to 7 hours.
We have a lot of delivery and so the host must be technically savvy and proficient in updating delivery apps (UberEats, Grubhub, etc). A big part of the job is dealing with the delivery drivers and customers. Experience serving or using a POS is a plus (we use Square).
Other responsibilities include:
Greeting and seating guests with OpenTable and Resy (please have experience with these apps)
Setting tables
Answering the phone
Keeping the entry neat and presentable
Taking to-go orders
It pays 24/hr plus tips. Depending on the shift, tips are an extra $2 to $10 an hour (it REALLY depends on the shift).
Please be friendly, patient and professional. It's a nice place with a tight knit crew and you get staff meal :)
