Established Flatiron Restaurant seeks Floor Manager to lead the service team and maintain the excellence within the dining room ensuring an exceptional guest experience
Job Summary:
Uphold our defined standards of service to continue driving a successful operation
Demonstrate a passion for service to motivate service team with sales
Maintain a positive, teamwork environment
Address any staff issues promptly with corrective coaching when applicable
Conduct periodic testing to encourage food and wine knowledge
Ensure that training standards are consistently followed
Create and communicate daily floor plan and pre-shift notes to FOH staff
Verify tools for service are in place, and staffing levels and hours are correct
Ensure that all steps of service are followed and side work duties are completed
Check that the reservations book is maximized yet manageable
Be present and available to step in as needed
Perform table touches at service to ensure guest satisfaction
Address and resolve guest complaints and issues in a professional and timely manner
Promote a culture of hospitality and service excellence among staff
Communicate between FOH and BOH, ensuring a smooth service
Provide coaching and feedback for service staff development
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a manager in a full-service restaurant
Experience with wine sales in service
A self-driven, proactive attitude
Ability to remain composed under pressure
Ability to lead a motivating pre shift meetings and training session
Conflict resolution skills
Proficiency in POS systems
Proficiency in reservation systems with ability to act as Maître d’
NYC Food Protection Certificate
Knowledge of health and safety regulations
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
