Job Title: Chef for The Rum Bar (Caribbean-Themed, 4 Days/Week)

Location: The Rum Bar, Brooklyn, New York

About Us:

The Rum Bar is a vibrant, Caribbean-themed bar in Brooklyn offering a warm, welcoming atmosphere, craft rum cocktails, and island-inspired hospitality. We’re expanding our food program and looking for a talented chef who can bring authentic Caribbean flavors to life, four days per week.

Job Summary:

We’re seeking an experienced, creative chef to manage kitchen operations, design an enticing Caribbean-inspired menu, and deliver consistent, high-quality food that enhances our guests’ experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute a Caribbean-inspired, bar-friendly menu (small plates, shareables, entrees).

Oversee daily prep and service during four shifts per week.

Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards.

Manage inventory and ordering.

Collaborate with management on specials, events, and rum pairings.

Qualifications:

2+ years of professional kitchen experience (Caribbean cuisine experience is a big plus).

Ability to create authentic, crowd-pleasing Caribbean dishes.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.

Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Creative and adaptable approach to menu design.

Compensation:

Competitive pay (based on experience).

Schedule:

Four shifts per week.
