A NYS agency located in New York, NY is looking for a Project Manager - Law Enforcement for a 12+ month contract.
Please note that this position will allow for remote work only as needed and approved by manager. At own expense occasional visits to agency facilities will be required. To be considered for this position, the client has advised that upon placement, consultants will be required to wear a mask under certain circumstances, show proof of full vaccination or submit on a weekly basis proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR diagnostic test. Requirements and skills- Minimum 7-9 years of Information Technology Project management experience
- 3 to 6 years of experience in Law Enforcement Technology Projects
- Experience managing requirements matrix & scope of work
- A solid foundation in information technology and the functions of an Enterprise IT Department.
- Experience managing Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management and deployment of mobile solutions or similar projects.
- Certifications including PMP or equivalent are a plus.
- Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office including Project, PowerPoint, Visio & Teams
- Ability to coordinate activities with multi-disciplined technical resources as well as maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Excels at decision making skills by inquiring, listening, and evaluating information.
- Ability to understand and adjust to changing priorities, circumstances, and direction.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills is a must.
- 6+ years' experience: MS Project, Project Management, Project Scheduling, Project Planning
- Hands on project management experience and Police Department subject matter expertise are required.
- Seeking a Project Manager with experience in Law Enforcement arena as well as IT to manage major Police related projects including the implementation of Computer Aided Dispatch, Records Management and Mobile solutions.
- We anticipate the projects will last 24 - 30 months however it is possible to extend beyond. Onsite work within the New York City area is required however occasional remote work is also available.
- A flexible schedule shall be worked out between the agency Director and consultant. Occasional travel throughout the agency Region is also required.
- The consultant will manage all aspects of the projects and achieve the required result within timeline and budget goals.
- Creating project schedules & plans
- Coordinate activities between various stakeholders such as vendors, IT, Police, procurement and other technical groups.
- Ensure that all requirements, applications, systems and services introduced into the agency environment meet defined IT and Police standards, policies and follow industry best practices.
- The consultant will make certain all IT controls involving system configuration, permissions, user access, data protection, auditing, monitoring and any other relevant controls are applied.
