About Reader’s Brain Academy
At Reader’s Brain Academy, we help students master English through an immersive, literature-based approach. Our students improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills by engaging with great books, writing analytical essays, and participating in meaningful class discussions.
Each class is 1.5 hours long, with up to six students, ensuring an interactive and personalized learning experience. Instructors select suitable reading, design syllabi, and teach via Zoom. They also provide constructive feedback on student essays and facilitate dynamic discussions that strengthen comprehension and critical thinking.
Who We’re Looking For
We seek passionate educators who love literature, enjoy guiding students to think deeply, and are eager to apply research-backed teaching methods.
Qualifications:
Bachelors and Masters Degrees in English, English Education, or Linguistics.
A “name brand” institution preferred!
Strong test scores (SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, or equivalent)
Excellent written and spoken English
A willingness to learn and implement our science-based teaching methods specific to writing.
Minimum 10 years teaching experience in writing or English Language Arts, with the ability to teach writing for grades 3-12.
If you have an MA or PhD and are willing to learn a new way of teaching writing and to adapt your instruction to smart students in grades 3-12, we’d like to hear from you!
Required: Availability to teach in the early mornings, providing instruction after school for students on Beijing Time or to teach at night on the weekends for students taking classes early in the morning on Beijing Time.
Responsibilities:
Teach engaging, discussion-based English classes using classic and modern literature.
Provide thoughtful feedback on student essays to develop analytical writing skills, using rubric-based assessment.
Identify suitable titles for students’ curriculum and writing prompts that improve students’ understanding of reading assignments and also strengthen their argumentative writing skills.
Apply evidence-based teaching strategies, using our materials.
