We are an independent Record Label / Publisher based in Washington, D.C. Metro seeking an experienced part-time publishing/sync/licensing manager to assist us with working our extensive catalogue of compositions to place music and synchronization licenses into various media projects, along with other related tasks.
Duties:
Find, develop (cultivate), and manage relationships with target licensing professionals and entities.
License and invoice for all sync media (e.g., film, television, commercials, internet, video, stage, etc.)
Analyze, review and resolve license revision requests with clients
Process license fee payments; maintain and reconcile payment log
Monitor and pursue license fee collections
Maintain sync licensing database
Produce monthly financial reports
Collect and process ad buys
Collect and review cue sheets
Handle inquiries related to license requests from various sources
Prepare and coordinate paperwork for imaging
Handle and safeguard confidential and proprietary information
Required Competencies and Skills
Experience drafting music licenses, especially those related to sync and masters
Thorough understanding of various types of music licensing (including but not limited to sync, digital, and grand rights)
Exceptional organizational skills coupled with the ability to maintain detailed, accurate records and work efficiently in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
Motivated, responsive and collegial team player able to work diplomatically with internal and external constituents
Working knowledge of current and past US and international copyright law
Excellent computer skills and a working knowledge of content management platforms and databases such as DISCO
Expertise and Education Requirements
Five (8) years of music publishing experience
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent business experience
Additional Requirements and Compensation:
1099 contractor position.
Hourly DOE. Ongoing retainer may be offered after demonstration of exemplary work. Well-connected candidates with a solid rolodex of contacts preferred.
Remote - 100% work from home.
