Job description
Part-Time Bookkeeper
We are hiring someone comfortable dealing with complex Real Estate/Property Management data to be a bookkeeper. As a bookkeeper, you will help us in recording and maintaining daily financial transactions, performing reconciliations, assisting accountants in preparing financial statements and closing books, running payroll, collecting debts, rents and making payments.
Bookkeeper Responsibilities
Maintaining records of financial transactions by posting and verifying
Defining bookkeeping policies and procedures
Maintaining systems to account for financial transactions by establishing a charts of accounts
Reconciling entries to balance subsidiary accounts
Maintaining a balanced general ledger
Preparing a trial balance for the accountants
(i.e. Credit card receipts have to be recorded and entered into the system for reimbursement from several clients and then recorded and reconciled in the company financials)
Bookkeeper Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in accounting, finance or related discipline
Previous bookkeeping experience a must
Experience working in a fast-paced environment
Quickbooks knowledge a MUST
Any knowledge of Appfolio would be a huge plus
Skills Required
Basic accounting knowledge
Understanding of industry benchmarks in accounting best practices
Expertise in Microsoft Excel or any other spreadsheet
