Position Overview:
We are seeking a Collections Person. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, detail oriented, and the ability to effectively manage past-due accounts while maintaining positive relationships with clients. What we truly need is someone who is professional on the phone, an excellent communicator, and able to adapt their tone and approach to suit different customers and situations. The ability to gauge when to be firm versus empathetic is key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Contact customers with outstanding balances via phone and email to secure payment.
Maintain a thorough and organized system for tracking collections activity.
Work closely with the accounting team to resolve billing disputes and discrepancies.
Negotiate payment plans and settle accounts when applicable.
Keep accurate records of all collections interactions and payment arrangements.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless customer experience.
Provide regular reports on collection status and outstanding balances.
Requirements:
Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel is required; Sage experience is a plus
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to handle sensitive situations with diplomacy and tact.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
High level of professionalism and customer service.
Detail-oriented and highly organized.
