Req Number 109850Job DescriptionInstalls, repairs and maintains all electrical systems up to 600 volts, and assists with medium voltage (15,000 volts maximum - under supervision of management and Electrician I) equipment, controls and associated ancillary equipment. Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains Medical Center electronic circuits. Provides guidance to Electrician III.Job Responsibility
Installs, repairs and maintains all electrical systems, up to and including medium voltage equipment (15,000 volts maximum), controls equipment and associated ancillary equipment using a variety of portable and stationary hand and power tools, instruments, gauges, etc., in accordance with electrical layouts, blueprints, schematics and codes.Occasionally required to work electrical circuits 'live or hot' but only with management approval and assistance.
Troubleshoots, repairs and maintains Medical Center electronic circuits.
Performs work of Electrician II or III and provides guidance and instruction to same and other personnel assigned to projects.Assists other tradesmen in performance of their duties as required.
Maintains and repairs generators, including troubleshooting and repair of all emergency power systems.
Completes reports and surveys, verifies prints to insure compliance with all applicable codes and reports violations.
Recommends and/or prepares purchase requests.
Serves as member of the Fire Response Team.
Assist Contractors in shutdown of services and utility systems.
Performs related duties, as required.
ADA Essential FunctionsJob Qualification
High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Must be familiar with New York City Electrical Code and other Codes having jurisdiction.
Minimum of eight (8) years Journeyman Electrician experience, required, using electric and electronic tools, instruments, meters, and equipment of the industry.
Knowledge of complex electronic components and circuitry, and ability to troubleshoot.
Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions.
