Description Sr. Accountant Opportunity in the Melville area Anna Parson at Robert Half is seeking a smart, detail-oriented Sr. Accountant to join a Services based client. If you possess strong skills in general ledger accounting for multiple entities, knowledge of intercompany accounting and transactions and have a firm foundation in GAAP, then this is a golden opportunity for you to utilize and expand your accounting skills in a challenging yet rewarding environment.As the Sr. Accountant you will:
Maintain and reconcile all the accounting for multiple entities and track and reconcile intercompany transactions.
Handle full cycle accounting including the preparation of journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, ledgers, and account reconciliations.
Ensure financial reporting adheres to GAAP principles.
Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements.
Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable as needed.
Collaborate with the finance department to automate, streamline, and improve current accounting procedures.
Assist with audit support and special projects as assigned by Controller and CFO.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Proven experience as a senior accountant with a focus on accounting for multiple entities and intercompany transactions.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards.
Proficient in general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
Excellent excel skills along with experience with accounting software.
Analytical abilities in managing large amounts of data.
Attention to detail and accuracy in processing information.
Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines.
Position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role with multiple entities and intercompany transactions
