Concern Housing is seeking a Rep Payee Specialist to be responsible for providing financial management services to program participants including representing and advocating for their interest with the Social Security Administration in all financial matters, paying bills and reducing arrears. This position will also serve as a backup for the AR Bookkeeper as needed.

Position: Rep Payee Specialist

Location: Medford, New York

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 9am - 5pm

Salary: $60,000/yr.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

- Submit paperwork to Social Security Administration (SSA) and NYS Office of Temporary & Disability Assistance

(OTDA) for Representative Payee status. Notify SSA & OTDA of any participant changes that would affect their

benefits.

- Complete annual SSA Representative Payee Report requirements and file electronically on the SSA website.

- Communicate with the bank regarding the opening and closing of all representative payee accounts.

- Reviews SSA & OTDA deposits on behalf of the participants and record in the participant accounts.

- Generate all disbursements from participant accounts including rent, bill payments and PNAs (personal needs

allowances).

- Work with program participants on budgeting their funds responsibly, which includes meeting with program participants

as needed to discuss their financial status and budget plans.

- Assist program participants with opening trusts where needed.

- Assist with other bookkeeping responsibilities as needed.

- Remain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.

Requirements: Minimum of two years’ experience working in an entitlements or benefits position.
