Group-A Racing is looking to hire a full time mechanic to work with us. We are a pro race team since 1996 & have won many races and championships. Along with that we are the exclusive dealer of Radical Sports Cars for the entire North East.
We do not expect you to have prior experience on these specific cars. General automotive and mechanic skills are needed. From there desire to learn and we will teach you everything that may be more specific for these cars, how certain task are done to be efficient & correct.
This is an extremely unique opportunity especially here on Long Island to be working in the action packed, adrenaline rushing arena of motorsports. The job requires alot of travel. +/- a bit will do 50-65 days on the road during a 365 day timespan traveling all over the country to races & events. For all events on the road we take care of expenses such as 3 meals a day, travel/air fair, rental car, hotel etc.
This is a professional work place which workers are expected to be able to present themself in a neat and professional manner. Being prompt and correct attendance to be expected. You should be able to work in a team environment with other team mates both taking orders and eventually growing to correctly administer them. Applicants should be able to work in different climates as naturally at track events are outdoors, sometimes hot, cold, rain etc.
Working with us will entitle but not limited to:
- Prepping Cars at the shop
- General work on the rigs, loading, unloading etc.
- Unloading containers from Radical with new cars, parts inventory etc.
- Travel to work Radical Cup events nationally, most events run on Indy Car events
- Travel to work promo demo days at country club tracks in the North East
- Travel to work NASA & SCCA club racing events - mainly in North East but sometimes out of region
- Travel to tracks in the North East to do new car deliveries and shake downs
- Travel to test day/track day events nationally.
- Package parts orders to ship out to customers
If you already drive trucks or are willing/want to learn, that will be a tremendous positive for you and put you to the front of the line, but absolutely not mandatory.
