Ken-Mar Fire Extinguisher Co., Inc., located in East Northport, NY, is seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Fire Extinguisher Inspection Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing inspections and maintenance on fire extinguishers and other fire suppression equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and maintenance on fire extinguishers, fire hoses, and other fire suppression equipment, in accordance with NFPA and local fire codes
- Perform hydrostatic testing and recharging of fire extinguishers as needed
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and maintenance performed
- Conduct routine maintenance on inspection equipment and vehicles
- Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction
- Provide recommendations for replacement or repair of fire extinguishers and other fire suppression equipment, as necessary
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Participate in ongoing training and certification programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical school degree preferred
- Knowledge of fire safety regulations and NFPA codes
- Experience with fire extinguisher inspections and maintenance preferred, but not required
- Ability to use hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and precision measuring tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
