Handsome Homebuyer is hiring a Construction Superintendent to oversee the daily execution of residential construction projects. This is a boots-on-the-ground leadership position responsible for managing crews, project schedules, safety, and quality on multiple job sites.
You’ll be accountable for keeping projects running smoothly, meeting deadlines, and maintaining exceptional craftsmanship from start to finish.
This position is based in Melville, NY, with travel required throughout Long Island.
Saturday availability may be needed occasionally to meet project deadlines and operational needs.
Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities
Manage subcontractors and vendors
Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with building codes
Track project schedules, budgets, and materials
Conduct quality control inspections throughout each phase
Collaborate with management to resolve issues quickly and effectively
Communicate progress updates regularly to the project management team
Conduct daily safety observations and enforce PPE compliance
Prepare for and pass inspections on the first attempt with completed checklists
Monitor work, enforce trade accountability, and document issues with photo evidence
Complete site visit reports with detailed notes and uploads within 8 hours
Lead daily jobsite walkthroughs, toolbox talks, and QC checklists
Qualifications
3-7+ years of experience in residential or light commercial construction
Proven track record as a Superintendent, construction/ project manager, or similar role
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety practices
Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Bilingual a plus!
Compensation
$85,000 - $105,000 annually, based on experience
