RESEARCH STUDY AT STONYBROOK CLINICAL RESEARCH CENTER EAST SETAUKET
A potential subject needs to stop drinking for 5 days prior to a full day of assessments. The assessment day will be 5 hours long. Need to be able to meet over TEAMS for the 5 days prior to assessment day for about one hour each day, Taking a (placebo) Sugar pill each day and answering questionnaires until the lab assessment day. On the assessment day take Dexamethasone (an FDA approved drug for inflammation) to see if it reduces your craving for alcohol. Fill out questionnaires while being monitored clinically and giving blood samples by IV. Male/female 18-55
