Estimator/ Project Manager
Public Works Organization with over 30 years of experience , seeking a well-experienced Estimator,
to join our estimating team. Must have a Construction background in public with experience in all aspects of Estimating.
Salary is Based on experience and discussed during the interview.
Responsibilities Not Limited to:
- Prepare accurate and detailed Carpentry and GC cost estimates for various projects for all division and construction trades.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to determine the scope of work and materials required
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors to gather necessary information for estimating purposes
- Utilize construction estimating software such as OST (On-Screen Takeoff) to input data and generate cost estimates
- Research and gather pricing information for labor, materials, and equipment
- Evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and accuracy
- Negotiate pricing with subcontractors and suppliers to achieve the best value for the project
- Create comprehensive project budgets that include all necessary costs from start to finish
- Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget
- Provide support to project management team
-Capable of Managing small to medium size projects including coordinating with in house labor along with coordination with Subcontractors
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices
- Proficiency in construction estimating techniques and methodologies
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Excellent mathematical skills for accurate quantity takeoffs and cost calculations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Proficiency in using construction estimating software such as OST
- Knowledge of contract negotiation principles and strategies
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in cost estimation
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
