Purpose: To help manage and grow the online store, provide shift coverage, ship and receive products.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
I. Online Sales Team:
a) Photograph around 50 items weekly, taking multiple photos of each product to accurately portray it online.
b) List the products using Artisan (Handwork’s point of sale software) and Shopify. Making short descriptions for each product, following the SEO descriptions guideline and MPC suggestions.
c) Meet with the MPC as needed to discuss troubleshooting, questions, concerns, tasks, and assist with improving the online sales process, such as unboxing experience, customer service, etc.
d) Review the website regularly for errors, quality control, etc.
e) Regularly check the HandworkOnlineShop email account and respond to customers in a timely and professional manner.
f) Send photos of products that customers inquire about via email.
g) Contacting Certek and Shopify as needed to troubleshoot issues that arise.
II. Shipping and Receiving:
Monitor the pending orders in Artisan to make sure items are being shipped out in a timely fashion.
Ship any products sold online, in-store, or over the phone and email.
Provide shipping quotes to customers and complete sales over the phone via cc machine.
Safely package a variety of items in all different shapes and sizes.
Create labels through Shopify
Take packages to the post office.
Monitor and order shipping supplies as needed, such as boxes, bubble wrap, etc.
Receive wholesale and consignment orders. Add them into inventory, create labels, and work in tandem with MPC & OFM to display them throughout the store.
Contact vendors and members about customer questions, repairs to products etc.
Keeping the front desk stocked with shipping and pick-up forms.
Regularly cleaning and organizing the shipping area.
Contact shipping centers regarding damaged packages/items.
III. Retail Associate:
Cover store shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays.
Meet with OFM to discuss store coverage.
Meet with OFM as needed for employee task check-ins.
Monitoring the store for theft, and damaged products.
Cleaning displays, and occasionally adjusting products to make shelves look well stocked and the store visually appealing.
Restocking consignment and wholesale when they are running low, filling in empty spaces in the store.
Ensure excellent customer service is provided to customers, members, and wholesale and consignment accounts.
Represent the coop in a professional manner in all interactions with the community.
Attend Executive Committee meetings as needed.
Assisting in the second sale setup and takedown.
Answer member questions/troubleshooting issues with software, store issues, etc.
Assist with regular organization of the store, office, and basement.
Responsible for our Virtual Shopping Service which helps customers shop from afar with photos, shipping help and gift guide recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Ability to prioritize, multitask and meet deadlines with minimal direction;
Computer savvy and comfortable with troubleshooting technical issues.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on customer service;
Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of individuals and personalities;
Knowledge of a variety of artistic/craft processes is a plus.
Experience with Shopify or other website building platforms and online retail listings is a plus.
Product photography experience is a plus.
Requirements and Compensation
Hours for this position will be 20-25 hours per week , 40-50 bi-weekly
The compensation for this position starts at $17-$19 per hour depending on experience.
Must be available to work flexible hours and days, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Must be able to climb steep stairs frequently during a shift; some lifting is required.
Three work references are required.
This person reports directly to the Operations and Finance Manager, the Marketing and Promotions Coordinator and Handwork's Executive Committee.
