Open Doors English seeks a temporary part time Spanish Language instructor. This educator provides beginner-level Spanish language instruction to adults for a 6-8 week session (exact length of term to be determined). Dates likely between Sept 22-Nov 14th. The position is for an in-person class 1-2 days per week. Position includes 2-4 hours of instruction with 1 or 2 hours paid prep time per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
prepare for and provide beginner-level Spanish instruction that is appropriate, accessible, and engaging for students
provide a positive, supportive learning environment with high expectations for students
deliver Spanish instruction that is appropriate and accessible across communicative modalities (reading, writing, listening, & speaking), with an emphasis on speaking and listening.
monitor students’ progress and modify instruction accordingly
maintain class records
attend staff meetings as requested
maintain open and clear communication with ODE co-directors and colleagues
Skills and Qualifications: (preferred but not required)
Experience teaching adults in a classroom setting
Experience teaching Spanish
Experience learning another language and/or living in another culture
Wage: $25/hour
