Job Description:
As a Farmers Market Sales Representative, you will play a crucial role in representing our gourmet mushroom farm at local farmers markets. You will be responsible for engaging with customers, showcasing our range of fresh mushrooms, and driving sales through excellent customer service and product knowledge.
Responsibilities:
Drive our mushroom delivery van to the markets in Westchester NY
Set up and maintain an attractive and organized display of our gourmet mushrooms at the farmers market booth.
Engage with customers in a friendly and informative manner, educating them about the varieties of mushrooms we offer, their culinary uses, and nutritional benefits.
Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering cooking tips, and assisting customers with their purchases.
Process transactions accurately and efficiently using our point-of-sale system.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate with farm management to ensure adequate stock for each market.
Keep the market booth clean and well-maintained throughout the day.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and strategies to attract customers to our booth.
Represent our farm professionally and positively, fostering relationships with customers, fellow vendors, and market organizers.
Requirements:
Passion for gourmet food, agriculture, and sustainable farming practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong sales and customer service abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as farmers markets typically operate on weekends.
Physical ability to set up and dismantle market booths, and lift boxes of mushrooms weighing up to 20 pounds.
Previous experience in sales, customer service, or farmers market operations is preferred but not required.
