Due to continued growth, we are looking for a Shop Coordinator to oversee the shop and assists in the department with various duties required around the shop.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists the fire alarm techs/sprinkler fitters, Inspector with various job duties
Assists the Job Managers with the fabrication and delivery of materials to the job site
Assists fire alarm techs/sprinkler fitters as secondary labor – assisting with fire alarm panel testing, etc.
Assists the office coordinators with administrative tasks in ensuring material is available for the shop and possibly other DU locations
Prepares each job in accordance with the fabrication list or verbal/written instructions.
Operates shop equipment and machinery in accordance with safety requirements
Reports problems and discrepancies to Management
Maintains a clean and orderly work area at all times
Assists the Shop Foreman as required
Other related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS/ EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or GED
Two years of experience in a shop setting a plus
Good mathematical skills with the ability to read a tape measure and add/subtract fractions
Good communication, organizational, reading and time management skills
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Valid driver’s license
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leads shop coordinator and shop assistant in tasks around the shop
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds by self and up to 100 pounds assisted (with another person or mechanical assistance)
Ability to climbs ladders up to 6 foot
Ability to drive a fork-lift
Shop environment with exposure to outside elements during all seasons
Starting Wage Range: $18-$28 per hour
