Neuffer's Deli in Bolton Landing operates the very popular Glen Island Store in the Narrows part of Lake George. Your day starts by loading our pontoon boat with the supplies and goods sold at the store, then take a 10-15 minute boat ride from the dock out to Glen Island. After unloading items, you'll primarily work behind the register, greeting customers and doing check out. Keeping coffee containers full, restocking drink coolers, ice cream coolers, and shelves, and keeping the store clean must also be completed daily. You will always have help loading and unloading the boat, but may need to work independently on the island on slow days. Most of our customers are camping on the islands or boating on the lake - so they're almost always in a good mood!
Part time and full time positions available!
Shift options: 7am-6:30pm, or 7am-3:30pm, or 10am-6:30pm. The store is open every day in the summer and closes in October.
Employee Requirements:
1. Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds on and off a boat.
2. Integrity to be able to handle cash and keep track of any errors on the register so the manager can fix them at the end of your shift.
3. Reliability! The boat must leave the dock on time in order to open the store on time each morning. If you are late you will have no way to get to the island. You must have reliable transportation to get to Bolton Landing on days you are scheduled to work.
4. Ability to complete tasks without supervision and work alone at times.
5. A boater's safety certificate (commonly called a boater's license) is a plus but not required.
Pay: $16-$18/hour based on experience
