The Office of Marketing and Communications at Hobart and William Smith is seeking a dynamic and organized Project Manager to oversee projects focused on admissions and advancement. This role will be critical in coordinating communications strategies that effectively promote Hobart and William Smith’s values, academic programs and campus culture to prospective students and their families, and to alumni and donors. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, a passion for higher education, creativity, and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination: Lead and manage multiple projects related to admissions communications, including digital marketing campaigns, print materials, and vendor relationships. Coordinate projects in support of the goals of advancement including for “Further Together: The Campaign for Our Third Century.”

Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across campus to develop and implement strategies that enhance recruitment efforts and fundraising. These include developing project timelines, objectives and key performance indicators that align with HWS’ goals.

Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including multiple vendors, to support project initiatives including email campaigns, digital advertising, website updates and videos, among others.

Content Development: Assist in creating engaging and informative content for brochures, newsletters, websites, and social media platforms that resonate with prospective students and donors.

Guidebooks: Working with colleagues from across campus, oversee the submission of content to multiple guidebooks.

Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and projects are delivered on time and within scope.

Performance Tracking: Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, analyzing data and feedback to continuously improve communication strategies and project effectiveness.

Other Information:

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible administrative position. Normal office hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the academic year with a possible shortened workweek during the scheduled summer time period. Evening and weekend hours occasionally required. This position description is not all-inclusive, as other tasks or responsibilities may be assigned. Annual salary is $60,000.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience in project management, preferably in a higher education or communications setting.

Strong understanding of admissions processes and marketing strategies for prospective students.

Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Proficiency in project management tools and software (e.g., Asana, Trello, Microsoft Project).

Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience working in a higher education setting, particularly within admissions or advancement.

Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques to assess project performance.

Understanding of current trends in higher education, student recruitment and fundraising.
