Dedicated to helping New York become economically and environmentally sustainable.A Jr. Solar Electrician will assist with the installation of new projects and the rehabilitation of existing.Electrician Duties and Responsibilities:
Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement.
Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Understand layout and assembly of solar modules/array and mounting hardware
Mechanical and structural mounting of racking, modules, and electrical equipment;
Basic electrical wiring of solar array/system (AC and DC)
Ensure proper clean-up of job site
Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety;
Responsible for following the safe work practices for the installation team
All other assignments and special projects, as requested by Management.
Requirements:
1+ years of experience as an electrician
Solar experience, commercial or residential (preferred)
Clean drivers license
Must have own tools
Ability to safely terminate live wires and preform an electrical service upgrade
Must be comfortable with being on roofs with pitched surfaces/Cannot have a fear of heights
Ability to work in extreme weather (hot and sunny as well as colder temperatures)
Ability to climb ladders/stairs
