job detailsjob summary:A Quality Technician is needed for a manufacturing company considered one of the world's leading innovators in materials science in the Fairport, NY area. This role ensures product quality, handles non-conformances, collaborates across teams, and supports continuous improvement and safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, while reporting to a Quality Supervisor.location: Fairport, New Yorkjob type: Contractsalary: $17.52 - 28.32 per hourwork hours: 8am to 4pmeducation: Associatesresponsibilities:
Report directly to a Quality Supervisor.
Focus on quality disposition of Advanced Optics parts and materials.
Review and release product and material documentation.
Act as a liaison between the Plant and key stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, Procurement).
Ensure product quality and compliance with requirements.
Disposition production events related to part and material non-conformances.
Monitor metrics related to job responsibilities.
Support plant safety programs and contribute to a safe working environment.
Meet department requirements for safety, quality, and cost.
Skills:
Ability to multitask and prioritize work independently in a fast-paced environment.
strong cross-functional communication skills.
Ability to quickly learn new technology and processes.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Desired Skills:
Previous experience in quality control within a manufacturing or technical function.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards.
Experience interpreting procedures and work instructions.
Education and Experience:
Associate's degree + 2 years of experience in manufacturing/production, or
High school diploma + 5 years of experience in manufacturing/production.
