Learn more about working with us at healthykidsprograms.com/work with us.We are currently looking for a Site Supervisor for our 2024-25 Prekindergarten Program in Chappaqua Central School District.JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-ExemptPAY:$20 per hourRequirementsThe Pre-K program provides four-year-old children with a universal opportunity to access high-quality pre-kindergarten programs that prepare them for future school success. This position will require a high degree of creativity, cultural awareness, and problem-solving capabilities. The program focuses on child-centered activities, the development of strong foundational skills in early literacy and numeracy, social interactions, and Kindergarten readiness skills. The successful candidate should possess experience with early literacy, multi-disciplinary approaches, and strategies for meeting the needs of diverse learners.
Bilingual proficiency inEnglish and Spanishis desired.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Applicants should possess motivation and creativity; positive demonstration of strong interpersonal communication skills, the active ability to work within a team, demonstrated punctuality and attendance consistency.
Develop respectful relationships with the children, families and UPK team members to ensure a caring and welcoming environment for children.
Meet the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of each child.
Assist the Lead Teacher in establishing and maintaining an environment for children that is clean, safe, stimulating, and which is appropriate for each child’s developmental level.
Must be a flexible team player and have the ability to work well with others.
Assume the role of leadership in the absence of the Lead Teacher
Interact with the children in accordance with the developmentally appropriate practices.
Ability to manage the classroom through positive redirection, problem-solving, setting appropriate limits, and active listening
Support Lead Teacher in the development and implementation of lesson plans.
Follow through on additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the Executive Director.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate's degree in education or a related field preferred
Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)
Classroom management: 1 year (Preferred)
Teaching: 1 year (Preferred)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lifting and carrying children
Close contact with children
Direct supervision of children
Assisting children with toileting and hand washing
Must have the stamina and physical flexibility (walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, pulling, running, reaching, climbing, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.) without assistance to participate in children’s activities
