Hi! We are seeking full and part-time self-motivated, dependable shop employees for our two Antique shops in Tannersville, NY. You will directly assist customers, process transactions, help maintain and merchandise the sales floor and play a vital role in making our customer experience a positive one. Excellent customer service skills are a must, as well as the ability to learn product knowledge quickly and strong multitasking abilities
A normal day at the shop might look like arriving at 9:45am, opening the shop, counting the register, putting on one of the many store playlists (old blues, country, jazz, rockabilly, folk), tagging new inventory, answering emails and greeting customers/ ringing up sales. We are open Sunday-Tuesday & Thursday 10am-5pm, closed Wednesdays and open 10am-6pm Friday and Saturday. We have a large curated collection of inventory ranging from barn fresh primitives, 17th-century furniture, one of a kind oddities, taxidermy, antique jewelry, fine art, vintage clothing and midcentury & industrial lighting.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Opening and closing the shop
Welcoming customers
Helping and providing assistance to customers
Processing transactions and wrapping purchases
Basic cleaning and store maintenance
Answering the phone
Communicating with our over 30 vendors when customers may have questions we can't answer
Tagging and merchandising new inventory
Able to take direction from and report to management
Work as a team to achieve goals
Willingness to learn, keep busy and work hard
Requirements And Qualifications
High School Diploma, basic communication skills
Computer literate; familiarity using POS systems, email etc (can and will train)
Previous retail, sales and/ or hospitality experience a plus but not necessary
Passionate about antiques, vintage, textiles, history a plus
Comfortable with standing for long periods of time; can lift up to 30 pounds
Ok with shift scheduling, working weekends and holidays
Fantastic customer service skills
Extremely personable, positive and approachable
Openminded, honest, trustworthy and responsible
