POSITION SUMMARY:The position controls the day to day mailroom activities and functions. This includes gathering, opening, sorting, preparing and distributing postal and interoffice mail. The Operations clerk also handles some light courier work, and general office support duties.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:High School graduate or equivalent preferredGood sorting and organizational skillsBasic knowledge of computer operation as well as the ability to operate other types of office equipmentAbility to handle tasks requiring substantial repetitionMust be able to lift heavy objects - up to fifty poundsMaintain reliable transportation and valid driver’s licenseAbility to manage the mail room schedule and meet deadlinesMust show initiative, reliability and team orientated attitudeMAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Maintain the daily functions of the mailroom in an orderly fashion as to facilitate efficient processingRetrieve, open and deliver incoming postal/interoffice mail to various Bank locationsAccumulate and prepare outgoing interoffice mail for courier deliveryCollect, process and deliver outgoing mail to the post officePrepare one-time, or special, shipments and deliveries as necessaryProvide light courier services between Bank administration buildings and some branch locationsEnvelope stuffing of daily customer noticesShred documents provided - including various reports and customer checksAssist with the coordination and movement of various supplies on an as needed basisSuccessfully complete training programs as necessaryComplete other tasks as assigned by supervisorPHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Failure to meet these compliance standards may adversely affect performance appraisals and may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination. Employee’s compliance violations may result in termination, individual fines, and possible imprisonment.Minimum Salary: 17.00
