The Burnt Hills Ballston Lake Central School District is seeking an Elementary School Counselor to play a crucial role in supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students in an elementary school setting.Responsibilities:Counseling Services:
Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students dealing with personal, academic, or social issues.
Offer crisis intervention and support to students experiencing emergencies or critical situations.
Guidance Curriculum:
Design and deliver classroom lessons and workshops on topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, study skills, and character development.
Integrate socio-emotional learning (SEL) into the school curriculum to promote positive behaviors and interpersonal skills among students.
Collaboration and Consultation:
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to address students' academic and behavioral concerns.
Consult with teachers to develop strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs or behavioral challenges.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's progress, concerns, and available resources.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in School Counseling or related field from an accredited institution.
New York State certification or licensure as a School Counselor.
Experience working with children and families in an educational or counseling setting.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing school counseling practices in New York State.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to the diverse needs of students and families.
