Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Big Rig Truck Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair, with a focus on ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of large commercial vehicles. As a Big Rig Truck Mechanic, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Responsibilities:
Diagnosis and Repair: Conduct thorough inspections to identify and diagnose mechanical issues in big rig trucks. Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and other critical systems.
Preventive Maintenance: Execute routine preventive maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of vehicles. This includes oil changes, lubrication, brake adjustments, and other scheduled services.
Troubleshooting: Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to identify complex issues and develop effective solutions. Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure proper functioning.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities. Document parts usage, hours worked, and other relevant information for tracking and reporting purposes.
Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and environmental regulations while performing maintenance and repair tasks. Stay informed about industry updates and changes in regulations.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics and team members to achieve efficient workflow and share knowledge. Collaborate with drivers and fleet managers to address concerns and ensure effective communication.
