Description We are in search of a Technical Support Specialist to join our team in Albany, New York. This role is part of our health care industry operations, where the specialist will lend their expertise in maintaining and improving our system functions. This position is a long-term contract opportunity.Responsibilities: Assist with activities related to Federal and State complaint and surveillance activities in health care facilities. Maintain and update a spreadsheet database of hospital and health care facility complaints for case review. Attend staff meetings to discuss patient cases and log decisions on the spreadsheet. Communicate with complainants, providers, and staff effectively. Handle phone calls to department voicemail, including complaints due to hospitalization, visitation, and filing an initial complaint. Train and support staff as needed, providing support to providers and consumers. Scan, electronically file, and distribute copies of complaints to supervisors. Maintain files of paper complaints and dispose of them according to internal documentation storage and disposal guidelines. Utilize multiple data sources, assist with the use of variance analysis to validate the data used for Hospital and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers' COVID-19 statistics. Maintain Hospital and EMS contact databases used for COVID-19 ad hoc requests and activities. Undertake special assignments and projects as assigned.Requirements Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft PowerPoint Strong communication and written communication skills Ability to review and maintain logs of various activities Experience in database management and usage Proficient in handling and resolving complaints Expertise in document scanning and filing Ability to conduct training sessions and provide oversight when necessary Knowledge of spreadsheets and variance analysis Understanding of health care and medical coverage policies Experience in check processing Ability to handle facility management and storage organization Proficiency in the use of paper documentation systems Experience in handling statistical data Skilled in complaint handling and resolution.
